It’s Week 2 and hello NFL with big games on Thursday in Kansas City and Friday in Brazil! A better college football schedule than week 1, especially with Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday at the Big House for Texas at Michigan. CFB also continues to give you something the NFL will not…four games in 4K this week. Check the schedule to see those games.

Tennessee -7.5 vs NC State

Nico Iamaleava and the Vols big time D-line get it done versus Greyson McCall and the Wolfpack in the Dukes Mayo Classic. Get the mayo bath ready for Josh Heupel.

Houston at Oklahoma -28

Houston and first year coach Willie Fritz almost completely flipped this roster from last year with 63 new players and it showed with a 27-7 pasting from UNLV in week 1. OU will be wearing the 1950's throwback unis in this game, and can you imagine if Houston wore the "Luv Ya Blue" jerseys? Sooners should roll and cover easily in this one.

Colorado at Nebraska -7

Colorado steamrolled Nebraska last year in Boulder behind the Sanders brothers, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn, Jr. What has changed from last year? Not much for Colorado as it looks like they have 4-5 truly electric speedsters and not much else. Meanwhile in year 2 for Matt Rhule at Nebraska they have a 5-star true freshman at QB and a vastly improved defense. Nebraska takes this old Big 8 matchup and covers.

Texas at Michigan +7.5

Texas looked good last week. Michigan did not. Still, that's a lot of points at the Big House and don’t forget about the Michigan defense. The Wolverines keep it within a TD.

Arkansas +7.5 at Okla State

This is Mike Gundy vs Bobby Petrino. There should be points galore in this one. The pigs scored a TD on all 10 drives last week. But hey, that was Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Ollie Gordon needs to run hog-wild in this one and go over 200 to enhance his Heisman odds. Arkansas was 4-8 last season, but they were 4-0 on the road ATS last year. Hogs keep it within a TD.

Notes

Welcome to Week 1 and a full slate of college football! There are 96 college football games over 5 days starting today through Monday. All 134 FBS teams are playing. There are some good matchups, including 3 Top-25 showdowns. But, for the most part, it’s a pre-season affair with an average spread of 24 points for the favorite. There are 60 FBS-FCS matchups, 27 power-4 vs group of 5 matchups, and only 9 power-4 matchups.

I filtered out some of the trash (32 FBS-FCS games), so apologies to Tulsa, Army, Navy, NM State, and so-on fans, but schedule better games. You will always get every Top-25 and SEC game on the schedule. What are the color codes?: Crimson = OU; Orange = Tennesssee; Yellow = Top 25; Blue = SEC; Tan = Other games of interest

Temple at Oklahoma -42

Temple has been one of the worst teams in the country for several years now. OU usually starts fast and smashes trashy non-con teams at home.

TCU -9 at Stanford

I think TCU is in for a big bounce back year. Josh Hoover is a rising star and Stanford may be one of the worst Power-4 teams in the country. Stanford's fan support is pretty miserable too. There will be more Stanford students at the Star Trek convention Friday night than Stanford stadium.

SD State at Ok State -10

This is foolish scheduling-101. If you are going to schedule an FCS team, schedule a garbage team and not the 2-time National Champion riding a 28-game winning streak. If Mike Gundy just puts the ball in Ollie Gordon's hands, they will overpower the Jackrabbits. But if Alan "7 years of college down the drain Blutowski" throws the ball all over the lot, look for trouble.

Co State +33.5 at Texas

CSU has an experienced QB back and should be one of the best teams in the MW this season. Plus, Texas will be looking forward to next week at Michigan.

Notre Dame at Texas A&M -3

It's the Duke-bowl with Mike Elko (ex-HC) for A&M vs Riley Leonard (ex-QB) for Notre Dame. I'll take Mike Elko, the Aggies overall talent, and the 12-man to cover here.

Well, College Football is back, sort of. It’s Week 0, which means there are only certain exceptions that allow games to be played before Labor Day weekend. One of those exceptions is international games, thus in steps Ireland in what has become a bit of a tradition. The NFL has London for several games, and I think Dublin has a good college town feel in comparison. It certainly draws a lot of US tourists as it’s estimated 75% of the fans in attendance travel from the US. And so why is SMU playing at Nevada? SMU found itself a game short with the move to the ACC and had to beg Nevada to play a 13th game on Week 0, which it has an option to do because of the Hawaii rule. So, enjoy Week 0 and rest up for a full slate week 1.

Oklahoma State over 8 wins

This one is hard to figure. OSU has 19 starters back and a pretty easy schedule with only two preseason top 25 opponents, Utah in week 4 and at Kansas State in Week 5.

Oregon under 10.5 wins

This one might be a bit risky as Oregon only plays two preseason top 25 opponents, Ohio State and at Michigan. There's also a cold weather game in late November at Wisconsin.

Colorado under 5.5 wins

The buffs catch all five Big 12 preseason Top 25 opponents and also play at Nebraska week 2. Add in at UCF and at Texas Tech and that smells like no bowling for Coach Prime.

Texas under 10.5 wins

Oh, I love the Texas hype. Please let Texas roll into the Cotton Bowl undefeated.

Oklahoma over 7.5 wins

Tough schedule...yes. After starting 4-0, at Auburn will be a huge game. I've got OU 9-3 and on the playoff bubble.
